Before joining the Ambrose team, Megan, a Los Angeles native and UCLA alumnae was working as an event planner coordinating corporate events and weddings. Her experience working in various Southern California hotels made her transition to the hospitality industry seamless. As a dedicated snowboarder and soccer player, Megan was committed to finding a work environment that would keep her just as excited and inspired as her favorite past times do, and felt that the perfect balance of comfort, coziness and constant interaction with clients made The Ambrose just the place.

Women’s Care Cottage: Helping Women and Children Find their Way Home

“For the 2007 holiday season, Women’s Care Cottage (WCC) is sponsoring an Adopt-a-Family program to benefit the women and children receiving services from WCCs emergency and transitional housing programs as well as the drop-in Resource Center. Women’s Care Cottage provides a comprehensive and holistic program to homeless women so that they may gain the skills necessary to become permanently housed, self-sufficient and stable.

The Adopt-a-Family program offers the women and children who receive WCC services many of the joys of the holiday season they may otherwise be without. Thanks to the generous contributions of 65 local donor families, special memories of Christmas 2006 were created for the women and children we serve. In total, 140 client families benefited from the program!

This year, client families will again be partnered with donor families based on their size and the ages of their children. After being paired up with a client family, a “Wish List” will be sent to the donors with the receiving family's names, genders, ages, clothing sizes and their holiday wishes. From the list, the donor family chooses to purchase any or all of the items on the clients' list, or substitute items that they feel the client may enjoy. Non-perishable food baskets and gift certificates are also welcomed.”

This program is a source of happiness, joy and satisfaction for all involved, and with the help of the community it is always a huge success. If you have any questions about the program or are interested in adopting a family this holiday season, please visit www.womenscarecottage.org.
